Prices for copper foil, which accounts for 20-40% of the production costs of CCLs, have been fluctuating in the range of US$7,000-8,000 per metric ton recently. The sources indicated that CCL makers have been coming under extra pressure from the rising costs for glass fiber and glass fabric, other chief materials used in their production.
CCL makers raised their prices 10-15% in May this year, and then another 5-10% in June.
The sources said clients are more willing to accept the price hikes now that the strong season for printed circuit boards (PCBs) has started.
